Finding the right nude lipstick that suits you is a quest like no other. I have searched high and low over the years for that ‘perfect nude’, and I have come across many contenders along the way. But these 5 lipsticks have stood out to me in terms of colour and longevity – each vary in tone and texture, and not to mention price. I reach for these colours more than any other lipsticks and I love them. Here’s why –
1. MAC – Honeylove –
MAC is the first brand that really introduced me to lipsticks, and i’ve been hooked ever since. Honeylove is one of the first shades I purchased, and is a great beige-toned nude in a matte finish. This colour is highly pigmented with great staying power, and is definitely my go-to nude lip for everyday.
2. Clinique – Nude Pop –
This mini lipstick is the perfect size if you’re on the go, and has a really pretty light pink sheen to it. It’s got more of a lightweight texture but still packs plenty of pigment at an affordable price tag. It’s so easy to wear and is great at giving a wash of colour to your face.
3. Tom Ford – Blush Nude –
Blush Nude is probably the most expensive beauty product I own, but I have no regrets. This is a delicate peachy pink-nude with a creamy consistency that feels nourishing and has great colour pay off, and not to mention the beautiful black and gold packaging. Despite its hefty price tag, Tom Ford is a top quality brand, and this product shows it.
4. YSL Rouge Volupte – 1 (Nude Beige) –
This lipstick is definitely one of my favourite shades – it’s a gorgeous pink-toned nude with a soft shine. It’s creamy consistency feels nourishing and it gives opaque colour in one swipe. I love the gold packaging and the fact that you can see the colour behind the YSL logo. It’s not as long-wearing as the other lipsticks, but I think I can live with that.
5. MAC – Velvet Teddy –
I discovered Velvet Teddy around the same time I found Honeylove, and it was immediately a hit. It’s a much darker brown-toned nude and suits most skin tones. It’s also a matte finish and gives amazing colour pay off with very little effort. It’s also very buildable and I didn’t find it to be too drying despite its finish – great for a slightly heavier look.
