Simple Homemade Chocolate Brownies

Today I was in the mood to bake. I wanted to make something pretty and delicious at the same time and the first thing that popped into my head was chocolate brownies. I’ve never made them before (terrible, I know) and they actually didn’t turn out all that bad! These are so easy and quick to make, and are perfect for a little sweet treat. These are in no way healthy or low fat so just ignore the calories and enjoy! Here is how I made them…

300g cooking chocolate

150g plain flour

200g caster sugar

120g butter

2 eggs

50g white chocolate chips

chocolate curls

Preheat the oven to 180 C / gas mark 4 and grease your baking tray with butter

Melt 200g of the chocolate in a bowl over simmering water. Once melted, add the butter and stir

Mix the sugar and flour together in a large bowl

Once the chocolate is completely melted and has a smooth consistency, pour the chocolate into the sugar and flour mix

Add 2 eggs to the mix and gently fold together

Add the chocolate chips and stir

Pour the mix into the baking tray and smooth the mixture out evenly

Bake in the oven for 20-25 mins until risen. Once cooked, take the mix out of the oven and let it cool

Melt the other 100g of chocolate with another 1-2 tablespoons of butter

Once the brownie has cooled, pour the melted chocolate on top and spread it out evenly

Add the chocolate twirls on top and leave to cool, or put in the fridge to make the chocolate set

Cut into pieces and serve! Simple 🙂

I hope this has inspired you to get baking!
