Becca Ombre Rouge

I recently got hold of the Ombre Rouge palette from Becca (yep, another eyeshadow palette). The Becca brand is everywhere at the moment and for good reason – they just keep bringing out products that make it onto a lot of people’s beauty wishlists, particularly their famous Becca highlighters. The colours in this palette caught my eye, but I’d been putting off buying this palette for a while because I already have a fair few warm-toned palettes. It was sat in my Cult Beauty basket for ages, until I finally caved in and bought it.

This palette has 5 shades ranging from lightest to darkest to create an ombre effect, as the name suggests. It’s designed to sculpt and widen your eyes with the gradient of colours. What I love about this palette is that you can use them all together or you can use them individually. Either way, the great pigmentation and depth of colours means you can create some stunning eye looks. If you’re a lover of warm colours, this is a perfect palette to add to your collection.

I  did find that the colours aren’t completely unique and you may already own similar shades, but the quality of these shadows sets the palette apart. It has a built in primer which extends the wearability and it contains green coffee oil which softens the skin. Plus, this palette only has matte shadows which are always good to have for smokey eye looks. They are so soft and blend easily with no fallout, and found that they lasted all day without crumbling.

The Becca website describes the shades as:

1 – neutral bone

2 – pastel mauve

3 – dusty rose petal

4 – burnt sienna

5 – deep plum

I would say that the quality of these shadows are on par with the well loved MAC, Urban Decay and Too Faced – it’s nice to find a palette from a different brand that matches up to a lot of cult favourites. I found that the colours in real life compared to the website are a little less intense, but by no means less impressive. These eyeshadows act as great stand alone shades but also work amazingly as transition shades, particularly the sienna colour. You can also apply them wet for a more intense colour payoff. The packaging is sleek and feels pretty luxurious – I feel this would be a great palette for a gift or a treat for yourself. All in all, I love this palette!
