I’m forever on the hunt for the perfect nude lipstick, and in my opinion, you can never have too many. I love the Charlotte Tilbury beauty range as a whole and had been hearing talk about the Hot Lips collection for a while. I spotted my idea of a perfect pink nude in the range which brought me some excitement. The shade that caught my eye was ‘Kim KW’ which is a pale pink nude lipstick inspired by Kim Kardashian-West. As soon as the range launched online, I managed to get hold of one and put it to the test…
The Charlotte Tilbury website explains that the Hot Lips range was inspired by 12 female celebrities alongside 4 other females that inspired lipsticks that already existed in her range. The shades are: Miranda Kerr’s ‘Miranda May’, Poppy Delevingne’s ‘Electric Poppy’, Liv Tyler’s ‘Liv It Up’, Salma Hayek’s ‘Secret Salma’, Cindy Crawford’s ‘Super Cindy’, Nicole Kidman’s ‘Kidman’s Kiss’, Kate Bosworth’s ‘Bosworth’s Beauty’, Kim Kardashian-West’s ‘Kim KW’, Helena Bonham Carter’s ‘Hel’s Bells’, Emily Ratajkowski’s ‘Hot Emily’, Laura Bailey’s ‘Tell Laura’, Carina Lau’s ‘Carina’s Love’ – alongside the 4 best-selling shades: Sienna Miller’s ‘Sexy Sienna’, Penelope Cruz’s ‘Penelope Pink’, Victoria Beckham’s ‘Very Victoria’ and Kate Moss’s ‘Nude Kate’.
Charlotte says that lipstick has the power to make a woman feel powerful and confident, and that she wanted to ‘extract the beauty DNA’ from these women and give it to everyone. Not to mention that £1 from each lipstick that’s sold in the first two months will be donated to Women For Women International – so you can look good and feel good at the same time by knowing that you’ve contributed to the cause that helps women worldwide.
Kim KW is described as a ‘vintage inspired pale pink nude’ that makes lips ‘look instantly fuller and irresistible’. This lipstick glides on easily and feels nourishing on the lips; the formula is very smooth and the colour is beautifully pigmented. I love the Kim KW lipstick, and the variety of shades that Charlotte has produced to enable you to create so many different looks.
I think Kim KW is a really pretty shade that would work well with a dramatic smokey eye, or a natural eye look without making you look too washed out. I found this lipstick to be fairly long-lasting, but I did need to reapply a few times throughout the day. However I found that when it did fade, it did so gracefully. Overall, I’m very happy with this lipstick and it’s found its place in my growing nude lipstick collection.
