Beauty On A Budget: A Foundation Favourite

image

My current everyday foundation favourite is the Maybelline Fit Me foundation, and it was an unexpected hit. When i’d previously tried some of the foundations from Maybelline I found them to be not very long lasting and they seemed to oxidise quite a lot on the skin. But I spotted this newer formula on a recent trip to Boots and decided to give it a go…

The Maybelline Fit Me foundation is described as a ‘matte and pore less’ formula which is ideal for normal to oily skin tones. This foundation is designed to ‘mattify and refine pores with blurring micro-powders, match skin tone and texture, and give a natural and seamless finish’. All that promise for Β£5.99? Well I tested it out and I have to say I’m genuinely impressed.

It felt very watery when I first squeezed it out of the tube which made me think that it wouldn’t apply well to the skin, but surprisingly enough it gave really good coverage and a great finish. I’d say the coverage is medium to buildable and it blends really well into the skin. It doesn’t feel cakey at all and felt very lightweight and natural while covering any redness and blemishes. I chose the shade 105 Natural Ivory which matches my skin tone perfectly, and it doesn’t seem to oxidise as dramatically as some of the previous Maybelline foundations I’ve used which is a bonus!

Despite the finish being matte, it doesn’t feel drying or look flat on the skin – it still gives a luminous look to the skin without the shine. I have oily-combination skin, and this foundation stayed on all day which I was really impressed with, I felt confident enough that I could put it on and not touch it for the rest of the day.

This foundation comes in a 30ml tube, which is quite small but ideal for chucking in your bag. I’d say that for how inexpensive it is, you can’t really go wrong! For me, it lives up to its promises and i’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking to try a new foundation on a budget!

Thanks for reading.

Love your review Aimie! I recently bought the concealer from this range and so far I’m liking it, it’s consistency and how well it blends into my skin! I’ll have to give the foundation a go at some point as well ☺️
