Now Summer is almost over, i’ve been looking back on the products that I have been loving in the last couple of months. These products have been perfect in the warmer weather and are products that I reach for most days because I know they do the job. Some of them are drugstore and some of them are more high end, and all have been working great for me recently. These are products that I have been loving to use lately, so here are some of my Summer beauty favourites!
Maybelline Fit Me Foundation –
I recently featured this foundation in my Beauty On A Budget: A Foundation Favourite review post. It’s a great drugstore foundation that offers a soft matte finish without being too flat or cakey. I’ve been using this foundation everyday since I got it, and I really love the finish it gives. Other products and powders sit well on top of it and the colour match is perfect for my light skin tone. I think it’s ideal for warmer weather as it doesn’t seem to slide off, but is also a great product to take into the colder months. All in all, it’s a winner for me.
Clinique Moisture Surge –
This product is perfect for when your skin is feeling a little dehydrated and lackluster. It’s a gel-like cream that you apply to any areas of your skin that need a little moisture – you can apply this on the areas that need it most throughout the day, or use it as an all over face treatment. I like to use it overnight on the skin under my eyes to try and get rid of any dark circles and give my skin a little TLC. I’ve nearly got through the whole mini-pot that was gifted to me, and will definitely be repurchasing in the larger size.
Kevyn Aucoin Highlighter in ‘Candlelight’ –
This highlighter is a very recent purchase, and I definitely splashed out a little on this product. What I love about this highlighter is it’s perfect even for my pale skin, and blends seamlessly. The powder is so finely milled that there are no chunks of glitter which stand out – for this reason you can make this as subtle or as full-on as you like if you build it up. I also have the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Moonstone which I featured in my last beauty favourites that you can read here. This highlighter is the most similar in colour that i’ve found to the Kevyn Aucoin Candlelight, but it’s slightly more subtle and I’ve found it to sit a little better on the skin. This product is worth the price tag in my opinion!
Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil Bronzer –
I’ve had a real struggle trying to find a good bronzer that suits my skintone. I’ve found a lot of bronzers, both drugstore and high end, to be too orange or too muddy on the skin. I’d heard that Too Faced had a light bronzer in their Chocolate Soleil range that catered to the pale folk out there, so I had to pick it up. I’d heard good reviews of all of the shades, and from trying this out for a while, I have to agree. It’s not too orange and is definitely buildable, but it doesn’t make you look like you’re obviously wearing bronzer. It adds a real glow to the face and blends really well into the skin. I love to keep this quite subtle, and have been really loving using this!
Rimmel London Mono Eyeshadow in ‘VIP Pass’ –
I am a sucker for a bronze eyeshadow and have so many similar shades in my collection, but I have been reaching for this single eyeshadow so often. It’s a perfect bronze colour with a slight shimmer, and is amazing quality for the price. The pigmentation rivals it’s high end counterparts, and I love to use this all over the lid blended out. For under £5.00 you can’t really beat it.
Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Lashes Mascara –
This has got to be one of my most used mascaras to date. It’s barely left my lashes since I bought it, and it’s even overtaken my beloved Benefit Rollerlash lately. The brush is designed to volumise and lift the lashes while coating every single one. It really doesn’t take much effort to get elongated and full lashes with this mascara, and it stays put all day. I normally stay away from larger brushes like this as it can make lashes look clumpy, but this doesn’t seem to do that on me. This mascara is a little pricey compared to what you can get in the drugstore but I think it’s definitely worth the price tag.
Jouer Tinted Lip Enhancer in ‘Cosmo’ –
I picked this product up as an impulsive add-on to a Cult Beauty order I made a while ago. I never intended to buy this but it somehow snuck its way into my basket, and I have to say I’m pleased it did. It’s a conditioning lip treatment that has a glossy formula with a hint of colour. It’s very easy to apply and makes your lips feel soft and nourished without feeling sticky like other glosses out there. I like to apply this throughout the day, and sometimes like to apply this at night so it gets to work while I sleep. There are obviously so many products like this on the market at the moment, but this one is definitely a good one that I would recommend.
MAC Lipstick in ‘Blankety’ –
This MAC lipstick in Blankety is an amplified finish, so it’s creamy, rich in pigment, and pretty long-wearing. It’s like the lighter sister of MAC’s Honeylove lipstick, which is a more browny nude that I also own and love to wear. Blankety is a lovely nude for day to day wear and would also look great with a nighttime smokey eye. It’s the perfect balance between a pink-nude and a brown-nude and it’s definitely been a favourite of mine to wear lately. I would recommend this lipstick to anyone looking for an easy to wear nude that looks great with most skintones and makeup looks.
I hope you’ve enjoyed reading this post!
