MAC Lipstick Collection

MAC was the first brand that really introduced me to lipstick. There is something about MAC lipsticks that makes them a firm favourite in a lot of people’s collections including mine. Despite a lot of other brands now adopting similar types of finishes as the MAC lipsticks, I think that what’s still so special about MAC is the shade selection – there is literally something for everyone. Whether you’re a nude lipstick lover, a pink lipstick addict, or you prefer a bold berry lip, there’s a shade in this range for you. They are so creamy and comfortable and certainly very collectible. Here are some of my MAC favourites!

Pure Zen – Cremesheen finish:

This is the first ever MAC lipstick that I purchased and it’s a pretty coral-nude shade. The cremesheen finish is probably my favourite formula from MAC as it’s so moisturising and comfortable to wear. This shade is so easy to wear and is a nice way to add a subtle pop of colour.

Honeylove – Matte finish:

Honeylove is a brown nude which pulls nude on some, but more beige on others. It’s creamy despite being a matte formula and is comfortable to wear.

Velvet Teddy – Matte finish:

Velvet Teddy is a pretty brown nude colour, but on me it looks almost like a muted red lip which makes for a great Autumn/Winter shade. Despite it’s Matte formula, I don’t find it drying and it lasts for a long time on the lips.

Creme Cup – Cremesheen finish:

This is a pretty pink lip colour that I think is universally flattering on different skin tones. It’s not too over-poweringly pink but gives a pretty wash of colour to the face. Plus it’s so creamy and easy to wear for days you just want to throw something on.

Creme d’Nude – Cremesheen finish:

Creme d’Nude is a really pretty nude shade that can be quite pale on some. As it’s quite sheer, it also makes quite a good lipstick topper on other shades.

Blankety – Amplified finish:

This is probably my favourite MAC shade at the moment and is the only Amplified finish that I currently own. It’s a warm nude and is like a more pinky-toned cousin of Honeylove. As it’s an amplified finish, it’s intensely buttery and creamy to apply.

Japanese Maple – Cremesheen finish:

This lipstick is the more peachy and slightly more pigmented sister to MAC’s Creme d’Nude. Japanese Maple looks almost identical in the bullet but it pulls more warm.

Modesty – Cremesheen finish:

In case you haven’t already noticed a theme here – I really like the Cremesheen formula in MAC lipsticks… This is a pretty warm mauve shade in the bullet with a glossy sheen.

L-R: Pure Zen, Honeylove, Velvet Teddy, Creme Cup, Creme d’Nude, Blankety, Japanese Maple, Modesty.

All in all, MAC lipstick are among some of my favourites in my collection. They are quite reasonably priced and the shade range is amazing. There is a reason why they are such a cult favourite beauty product. If you have any other shade recommendations i’d love to hear them!
