Trying On… Laura Mercier

I’ve loved Laura Mercier products for a really long time. I love the brand and love the ideal she has when it comes to makeup. She believes that makeup should be subtle and should enhance what you have, not fake it. It doesn’t seem like she’s really into all of that harsh contouring, or bright eyeshadows, or overly bright lipstick – i’ve noticed that her range leans more towards subtlety which I love. Here are some Laura Mercier top picks that I’d recommend from her range…

1. Tinted Moisturiser (Oil Free):

Sometimes i’m not all about the full coverage foundation, sometimes I’d rather a really light base for those ‘no-makeup’ days. I have the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser which not only nourishes the skin, it also gives enough pigmentation to act as a base product. The oil-free formula has slightly more colour to it than the normal version, and still gives a dewy look to the skin without being too much. I love to buff this in and dust powder over the top, and it actually lasts all day.

2. Mineral Pressed Powder:

The thing I like about this powder is that not only can you use it on top of foundations, or the Tinted Moisturiser above, you can also use this alone as a powder foundation. It offers enough colour pay-off to give a slight colour to the skin and blur your blemishes. It does pack a punch in pigmentation but doesn’t apply too cakey and sits well on the skin.

3. Lipsticks:

I currently own 3 of the Laura Mercier lipsticks in two different formulas, because you can never have enough, right? In the Creme Smooth Lip Colour formula, I have ’60’s Pink’ which is a pale peachy pink, and ‘Angelic’ which is a pretty pink nude. The other lipstick I have is ‘Flushed’ which belongs to the Gel Lip Color range, which I believe was limited edition. This is a perfect nude which applies more like a gloss. It can be worn on its own, but as it’s quite sheer it makes a great topper on other lipstick shades to tone them down. If you haven’t tried any Laura Mercier lipsticks, I’d really recommend to check them out.

Lovely! I have the Laura mercier contour kit and really love it. The colours are great and are buildable for a subtle look or a more dramatic look if you so wish! X http://bit.ly/2dordua

I have never tried Laura Mercier! I’m always nervous to spend more on a beauty product in case I hate it and the bank account suffering then doesn’t seem worth it! Haha
Those lipsticks are just gorgeous though! I must check them out x

Yeah definitely, it’s always risky on expensive stuff I guess. Ah yeah, might be worth a try! They’re good quality and lovely colours 🙂 x
