Tarte Tarteist Pro To Go Palette

You may have noticed that things have changed around here on Aimie Xo – I have recently upgraded to a self-hosted blog with a brand new layout. A post explaining all will be up soon. But for now i’ve got a short post on one of my new favourite palettes for on the go…

Towards the end of 2016, Tarte were throwing out new releases practically every week, and this was one of them. It’s the ‘Tarteist Pro To Go palette’. It’s a small palette containing 6 colours – 3 matte and 3 shimmer – that are perfect for creating everyday looks as well as night time appropriate looks, and as the name suggests, it’s ideal for on the go. Since receiving this I have loved using it most days for work, and love the bronzey warm tones it has. Despite being a small palette for travelling, I found that the eyeshadow pans were well sized and contained a fair amount of product for how slim it is. All eyeshadows wore well on me for around 7-8 hours throughout the day and blended well. I would say that the shimmers were more pigmented and punchy than the mattes, but nothing that a primer can’t fix.

This palette is so easy to travel with as it gives a great range of colours that are right up my street. You can go fairly neutral with these colours or build it up to create a more smokey look. The palette has a decent sized mirror and a magnetic closure and is super slim which is perfect for any make up bag on the go. I’m not sure if Tarte has changed their formula, but these shadows are very pigmented, more so than their In Bloom palette and other shadows that I’ve tried from the brand.

Tarte describes the shades as:

Drive (nude)

Stylin (brown)

Boss (bronze shimmer)

Hype (gold shimmer)

Crisp (chestnut)

Dominate (raspberry shimmer)

Swatches L-R: Drive (nude), Stylin (brown), Hype (gold shimmer), Crisp (chestnut), Boss (bronze shimmer), Dominate (raspberry shimmer).

The standout shades for me are Boss and Crisp – they are so easy to blend with amazing colour pay off. I love how intense Boss is on the lid, and Crisp is a rich and warm brown that looked lovely packed onto the lid or blended into the crease or lower lashline. This palette is pretty affordable, although if you’re in the UK, you’re likely to get stung with shipping. But seeing as Tarte are pretty kind, they often do discount codes on their products and shipping, so you could quite easily pick this up for cheaper. If you’re in the market for a warm toned palette for travelling, the Tarte Tarteist Pro To Go is a good’un!

I hope you like the new layout of my blog, I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Thanks for reading!
