There are so many products that have caused a hype in the beauty world – some of them end up being standard and overpriced products that don’t live up to the claims, but some of them are genuinely worth the money and the popularity. I’ve picked 5 products from my beauty stash that have caused a stir on social media and blogs and have tested them out to see if they genuinely work. These 5 products have stood out to me and are totally worth the hype…
Pixi Glow Tonic:
I’ve barely seen any negative reviews on the Pixi Glow Tonic – it’s meant to tone the skin and leave a subtle glow, while reducing blemishes. I’ve found that it’s not one of those products where you notice an instant change like BAM perfect skin, it does take a little time to build up and leave an effect. I have been using this for a little while and my skin is genuinely clearing up with less redness and less dryness and more of a smooth texture. I’ve found that it does sting the tiniest bit when you apply it sometimes, so it might not be ideal for people with very sensitive skin, but so far it’s living up to its claims and clearing up my complexion.
MAC Prep & Prime Fix +
This product from MAC has so much hype and has been a holy grail product for so many. You can do so much with Fix + from a primer, to a finishing spray, to intensifying eyeshadows, to mixing with foundations to make them last longer and give a glow. I love to use it before I apply my foundation and again after powder to take away the cakey look. It took a while for me to give in to the hype, but once I tried it, I’ve never gone back.
Tarte Shape Tape Concealer:
This is another product that is absolutely everywhere at the moment and has been since it was first released. I am on my fourth or fifth tube of this stuff and I have to say, it’s changed the concealer game for me. First of all, the applicator is massive and means that you can apply it a lot quicker, but you don’t need a huge amount of this to give good coverage. However, if you do pile it on, it’s easy to blend out and doesn’t look cakey. I can’t use any other concealer now without wishing it had the same huge applicator. I didn’t believe the hype at first because a concealer is just a concealer, but this genuinely covers so well and makes your skin look flawless.
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector (Pressed) – Moonstone:
The Becca highlighters revolutionized highlighters and started a massive trend, and have been well known for a long time. They are a little pricey for a powder highlighter, but these are some of the most pigmented and glowy highlighters on the market. They catch the light perfectly and are so smooth with no chunks of glitter in like some other brands. A little goes a long way, and Moonstone is beautiful on light/medium skin tones. It may be a little too pale for darker skin tones, but I’ve heard Opal/Champagne Pop are good ones to try.
Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow – Kitten Karma:
These are so hyped up at the moment and i’m seeing them literally everywhere too. I own the shade Kitten Karma and I have to say it’s probably one of my favourite eyeshadows ever. This shade is a light champage with gold and silver glitter. There are other colours too, including rose gold (Rose Gold Retro), bronze (Bronzed Bell) and Black (Molten Midnight) to name a few. If you love to wear glitter for a glam look but find it to be too much hassle, grab one of these – they are so easy to use and look stunning!
Those were 5 products I believe to be deserving of their hype. What products have changed your make up game?
